I was watching Seinfeld last night and Jerry was asking George these questions to see if he had a girlfriend.
Daily phone calls? no
Any of her items at my place (Tampex)? no actually she's never been there
Standing Saturday date? I'm not quite sure. I still ask her out since I don't want to take anything for granted
So it left me wondering since I still don't refer to L as my girlfriend. Or is it lady friend when you get to 40?

I think it's nice to still be asked out, even months later, just to confirm:) And, even if I find the term "girlfriend" just fine, I suppose it really only matters what "L" thinks of it, and you:)
Since you've already said the "L" word to "L" and she still accepts your calls & dates...it's time to refer to her as your "girlfreind'. If you're not sure...Send her a bouquet of roses (not red) and sign it "Love Mike"...and see what her response is.
Though red roses symbolizes love...it's boring. Pink, peach or lavender colored roses makes a girl really feel special.
Just some advice from a girl in her "40's"!
Are you only seeing each other exclusively?? That would qualify her as your girlfreind if not she's just someone you date...
