Wow
Where I valet there is a woman that works there that had broken her foot. She parks over in the garage where we do. She use to hobble on down. I would ask her if she wanted me to get her car. She would always say no and make the long journey to her car. After a few times she was struggling so much I just told her give me your keys. She did and I have been getting her car for her every since when I am there. So she got her cast off last Friday. Today she hands me a card and says "thank you". I told her she didn't have to (I knew there was money in there) and that is was "no big deal". She said it was. I know she is in a abusive relationship so someone being nice to her is probably big to her. Anyway I open up the envelope and there was a lot of $20 in there. It was $100. I was really shocked and very touched. Also very grateful since I need it to make up all the money I spent on my car. Thank you very much Crystal.

How nice of her! You were kind to get her car for her. Obviously she appreciated it. But I know sometimes people want to show their appreciation for something you've done and you don't really feel like you've done anything to warrant it. I was recently on a search committee to hire a new principal for our school, and was asked to be on the committee by my fellow employees and by upper management and I wanted to be on it. Well, it was a long, hard process and we went through some grueling meetings. Anyway, it was my job to serve to the best of my ability as well as everyone else that was involved. Our staff is so great - they knew we were going thru a tough time and gave us hugs and then gave us an encouraging note of thanks and a bag of chocolates and gift certificates for dinner. That caught me so off guard...never expected something like that...after all....wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. But it is nice to see that people do recognize "good deeds" that we don't even recognize ourselves when we are doing them.

Ah, now isnt that awesome?!! If you believe in God you can believe maybe he didnt want you to struggle this week and you did a good deed that you didnt have to do and here is your reward!

Hi Mike !!!!!!! As a lot of us at J-Land have come to know you we have come to know that you are a really sweet and wonderful guy. You have a big heart as I have come to see from your journal. You deserve the gift the lady gave you for being so sweet to her out of the kindness of your heart.
You deserve all the best out of life being the sweet person that you are. It just goes to show you from a person such as yourself that the world isn't such a bad place.
